Before you vote in November, and you will vote (please), you need to understand something. I know, I've articulated a long list of things Democrats would do or will do if they get back in control of anything at any level of government. More crime, less enforcement, no detention of foreign criminals, ending fraud investigations- it's a long, lousy list. But this "point" should be of particular interest.
Democrats in the US House and Senate supported a 4 trillion-dollar tax hike on you. Not just rich people. Not just wealthy investors, job-creators, and one-percenters. You.
On taxes, yes, Republicans should accentuate that they passed important tax cuts last year on tips, Social Security, and more. But they should equally remind Americans that had it not been for them, Democrats would have allowed the largest tax hike in history. After all, the large bulk of last year's Republican bill was stopping tax rates from returning to the Democrat levels that existed before the 2017 TCJA — and Democrats voted against Republicans' 2021 tax cuts and for taking rates back to their pre-2017 levels.
The tax cuts that made Trump's first economic revolution possible were going to expire at the end of 2025, and Democrats voted (wanted!) to let that happen.
