Nashua NH Teens, Boston And Lowell MA Residents, Injured During Crash On Everett Turnpike In Merrimack

MERRIMACK, NH — Four people were injured in a crash and taken to the hospital early Sunday morning, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Just before 1:30 a.m., dispatch sent troopers to the area of Mile Marker 9 for a report of a rollover crash. Troopers found two vehicles, a 2010 Honda Civic and a 2007 Toyota Yaris, about 30 feet off the right side of the highway.

According to a preliminary investigation, Anjalie Cruz, 18, of Nashua, was driving the Civic when she "overcorrected to the right" and struck the Yaris, which was being driven by Thomas Heath II, 44, of Lowell, Massachusetts.

"The cars then traveled off the right side of the road and rolled over, resulting in significant disabling damage," state police said.

Ateyah Gendron, 18, of Nashua, who was in the car Cruz was driving, as well as Keila Castillo, 34, of Boston, MA, who was a passenger in the car Heath was driving, were also injured. State police said all four experienced "serious but non-life-threatening injuries" and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Two lanes on the southbound side of the turnpike were shut down for a short period of time. The right lane remained closed for about 90 minutes during the investigation and cleanup.

Troopers were assisted by Merrimack fire and rescue teams, police, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
