The so-called privacy folks who refused to cough up voter roll data have been awfully quiet when you'd expect them to be caterwauling.
After all, it was your privacy that concerned them. That's what they said. We can't give up voter roll data to the Feds to ensure it's clean; there's information in there and stuff and junk.
My own state refused on these grounds, and like the rest, they claim we have clean rolls and elections, and there's no need. And now we can claim to be a bulwark protecting you from a general government that, if we're being honest, already has access to all the information they are claiming to protect.
It makes you wonder what these states are hiding in their voter lists. It also, as teased, begs the question: why aren't they flipping out over this?
