First, not enough people know they can slow local spending, which will reduce growth in their next property tax bill.
Even Democrats would typically applaud this if the past ten years of yammering were actually about lowering property taxes.
Obviously not; they hate the idea of capping growth on school spending. The Dems have gotten so far left that police and fire department unions are as likely to support Republicans, and their members vote Republican, regardless. And not just because of the Left's obsession with using schools as a jobs program that sucks all the oxygen out of the local budgets. Teachers' unions are Marxist fronts for the left's radical reimagining of America. The Democratic Party is anti-police and anti-public safety. And public schools teach math as if it were some extracurricular that interrupts the social justice programming.
Teachers' unions are electioneering, and if anyone actually complains or they get caught, they don't care. They are above the law, and it's a 1000.00 fine if anyone even bothers to assess it. It's a cheap campaign investment that puts a left-wing narrative in front of teachers, staff, and parents.
