Hollis' own Caroline Burns Selected by Former The Voice, American Idol Contestants to Perform National Anthem at Gillette Stadium before 2013 New England Revolution Game

Wakefield’s own The Voice season two contestant , James Massone, and season eleven American Idol top 10 finalist, Erika Van Pelt, had their chance to sit at the judging table for a change Tuesday night during the first-ever New England Revolution National Anthem Auditions at the Lansdowne Pub.

The former TV singing stars were joined by fellow guest judges – including New England Revolution midfielder Clyde Simms and Berklee College of Music marketing professor, Stephanie Kellar – all tasked with cutting down 19 finalists to three winners.  Radio personality Kennedy from Mix 104.1’s Karson & Kennedy served as the evening’s emcee.

Each contestant, including Caroline Burns, was given sixty seconds to sing the song of their choice before the field was whittled down to six finalists, each of which received the chance to perform their rendition of the anthem before the crowd.

Caroline Burns of Hollis, NH, Brothers McCann of Boston and Whitney Doucet of Fitchburg, Mass, were eventually crowned as the winners, each receiving an invitation to perform the National Anthem before an upcoming New England Revolution home games this season.

The Revs kick-off its 2013 home schedule this Saturday, March 23 at Gillette Stadium at 4:00 p.m. as they take on Sporting Kansas City. Tickets are available at RevolutionSoccer.net.
