Powell Announces Candidacy for School Board

I want to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the Merrimack School Board.

It has been several years since I last served as a School Board member...but I haven't been sitting on the sidelines. During this time, I have served on the Budget Committee, the Planning and Building Committee and a few ad-hoc parent groups.  This has given me an opportunity to observe the school district from all sides.

Now that my daughter has graduated from the high school, I have experienced through her all twelve grades and four of the six schools. I feel that I have seen what is working well in the District and where opportunities exist. I know that I can leverage my management experience with an eye for cost containment to get us through these difficult economic times.

I am excited about having this chance to serve Merrimack again and I humbly ask for your vote on April 10th.
