And the Winner Is... Broadway Bound

The voters have spoken and the small business of 2012 has been named.

Thank you to all of our voters in the final round of our Readers' Choice small business tournament and to all who've participated throughout the competition.

Congratulations to Broadway Bound who pushed past Swan Chocolate's in this final round! From the comments left by voters throughout the process, it's quite clear that this school holds a special place the hearts of many. Stay tuned for a feature story about the performing arts school that teaches dance to children and invites adults to work on their own fitness with exercise classes.

And congratulations to our runner up, Swan Chocolates. What would this town do without their chocolate and sweets fix? By the voters comments we see Swan's staff is just important to the business as the treats are.

And finally, congratulations to every business that was a part of this small business tournament. The amount of support for all of you shown throughout the process proves that Merrimack has a wonderful small business community and residents who support it.

So what is it about these businesses that makes them so loved? Where in town do you like to spend your days? Who would you recommend to a new resident if they need a new doctor?

Starting Monday we want your nominations for businesses, people and places in a round of subcategories like, best wine list, best chiropractor or best place to enjoy the outdoors.

We will take nominations into early July and then voting will begin at the end of July. Don't worry – no tournament involved here. This is a one shot deal!
We'll have more information for you Monday morning.

Until then, have a wonderful weekend – it's supposed to be sunny and absolutely gorgeous. Enjoy Ribfest or the Merrimack Premium Outlets grand opening if you're headed to those events. Oh, and dads? Happy Father's Day. You really are the best! (Just don't tell mom we said so.)
