And the Winners of the Merrimack Lions Club Scarecrow Fundraiser Are ...

The annual event raised thousands for the American Diabetes Association.

The organizers of the Merrimack Lions Club Scarecrow Fundraiser for Diabetes say the event was a big success this year.

The group sold more than $200 worth of scarecrows that were placed in front of businesses, homes, and schools, along Old Route 3, and more than $3,000 was raised for the American Diabetes Association.

The three winners, pictured top to bottom, were:

  • 1st place to Merrimack Library for Sherlock Holmes and Watson
  • 2nd place to VFW Auxiliary for 5 branches of military service
  • 3rd place to Elliott Orthodontics for the tooth fairy

The group will hold the event again next year with the selling starting in mid-September, probably around the time of the Merrimack Business Expo, according to organizers.
