August Message from Merrimack Rotary President
Are you looking for a way to give back to the Merrimack community?
MERRIMACK, NH -- August is considered “Membership Month” in Rotary International. The purpose of this theme is twofold: to remind Rotarians of the need for new members in their clubs, and to raise awareness within communities that Rotarians need help in what they do.
The Merrimack Rotary depends on its members to function, fund-raise, and manage the town’s club. Since 1971, the Town of Merrimack has had its own Rotary club. For over 40 years, various members of the community have joined the club to contribute their time, talent, and treasure to the community-at-large.
Each and every Thursday morning (except on holidays), members of the Merrimack Rotary assemble at 7:00am at the O’Leary Center to review and discuss ways to enhance the Merrimack community. It’s a dedicated group committed to using what resources are available to hold fundraisers and give back to the community in various ways.

Are you looking for a way to give back to the community? Can you help with Rotary fundraisers for scholarship monies, Coats for Kids, food pantries, and other communal needs? Consider visiting a Merrimack Rotary meeting. Each meeting consists of fellowship, brief opening ceremony, hot breakfast buffet, condensed business meeting, some fun and fines, and then a interesting guest speaker for 30 minutes. Visitors are always welcome!

Founded in 1971, the Rotary Club of Merrimack is a volunteer organization of business people and professionals supporting the community. Merrimack Rotary projects have included the Roger Duhamel Pavilion at Watson Park, scholarships, reconstruction of Kids’ Kove Playground, support for Merrimack flood relief, the Merrimack July Fourth festivities, the Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest, Interact Club, lighting at Reeds Ferry fields and more. The club works with other clubs on international projects like eradication of polio, Pure Water for the World, and hurricane relief in Honduras.
