911~ DIY hair problems...Advice from Hairthurium

When it comes to your hair~ do not rely on DIY. There is a reason why professional stylist go to school and are licensed.

You are in a rush, or short on cash when you picked up your kitchen scissors or opened that drugstore's box of hair color. You thought you would save time and/or money......never thought about the aftermath. Hair color that is black or tinged with a cast of green or frayed crooked bangs, that end up too short. Every hairdresser has received a frantic SOS call from someone like this. "Self-color" is something you should just say NO to. When people try to stretch the time between salon visits and color their hair at home, they often damage their hair and do not get the results they are looking for. Typically, the end result is  an appointment  for corrective color. Chemical processes like coloring, perming, and straightening change the structure of the hair. When a professional stylist colors your hair, there is a plan, to give you a perfect end result and maintain the integrity of your hair. A professional stylist is required to know the hairs chemistry and what your hair can handle. It can take years to recover from a bad haircut or botched box color, and get your hair back to a beautiful, healthy, shiny, head of hair. The next time you are contemplating turning your bathroom into a DIY color bar, ponder on this..... The price of DIY hairdressing~ 1. Box of drugstore hair color $15 2. 2 ruined bath towels $24 3. Refinishing bathroom floor, to remove hair color stains $400 4. Color correction at a professional salon $150 TOTAL $589 Realizing your hair stylist is a worth while investment...$$$ PRICELESS
