Phelps will go for a historic win with this event. A medal here would tie him for mot medals won by an Olympic athlete at 18. This is his signature event, one that he has held the world record in sine he was only 15 years old! He could also be the first male swimmer the have 3 golds in the same event. At the half way he was in the lead! Until the final seconds when Le Clos of south Africa steals the gold from Phelps. Even Phelps' mother appeared to think he won it, thats how close it was. With the silver he is still in the running for all time most decorated Olympian.
