It's About Liberty And Taxes

I am going to list my stances on the issues that people have been asking me about the most while on the campaign trail

It’s hard to believe it but it’s been 6 months since I decided to run for State Senate, and on Tuesday September 11th  I will find out if Republican voters in District 11 (Amherst, Merrimack, Milford and Wilton) feel  I am the right choice to represent them in the New Hampshire  Senate. It’s been a great ride and an eye opening adventure. I had run for town office on other occasions (winning a seat on the Town Council in 2010) but normally the campaign cycle is 2-3 weeks and it all goes on in Merrimack. This campaign has been going on for 6 months and been going hot and heavy for 3 months. The work is harder, the scrutiny is heavier and the distance to cover is a lot bigger, but I have enjoyed every moment of it. The most enjoyable part has been having the opportunity to meet so many people on the road while campaigning, some became supporters and some didn’t but they were all respectful and they all had strong opinions about District 11, New Hampshire and the United States as a whole.

As I would stand on a street corner, oval (Milford) or at a Transfer Station with my “Live Free or Die” sign behind me, people would come over and the first question they would always ask is “Where do you stand on the issues?” I would smile and point to the sign. I would then give answers to the specific issues that mattered to them most and point out that in almost all cases they were liberty or tax issues and how happy I was that they cared about those issues, because once we stop caring and allow others to run our lives then the New Hampshire “Live Free or Die” slogan becomes just an empty phrase.

Since you may not have  had the opportunity to speak with me in the past few months I am going to list my stances on the issues that people have been asking me about the most while I have been on the campaign trail. Since we are all different individuals with different backgrounds, you probably won’t agree with all of my stances but hopefully we have enough common ground where you will choose to send me to Concord to represent you. Either way at least you will know how I stand when you cast your vote in the State Primary on September 11th

I  would support   legislation to remove the Merrimack Tolls

I would support   legislation that would allow employees to choose whether they want to join a labor union or pay labor union dues

I would support  legislation that would open the free markets and allow individuals and businesses to find their best deals on health insurance, even if it meant going across state lines to purchase it

I would support  legislation that would provide tax credits or vouchers to allow parents an alternative to public schools

I would support legislation that would allow “Constitutional Carry” for law abiding citizens

I would support legislation that would repeal NH Cap and Trade (R.G.G.I.)

I would support a lean balanced budget

I would oppose legislation that would implement a sales tax

I would oppose  legislation that would implement an income tax

I would oppose legislation that would implement the use of seat belts or motorcycle helmets

As you can see, the issues that citizens care about the most concern liberty and taxes, and I can assure you that I am for increased liberty and strongly against unfair taxes, including the Merrimack tolls.

As I prepare for the day of reckoning to come, I would to thank my wife and children  for all the  support and patience they have given me  while I have been immersed in the campaign. I would also like to thank  all my friends and supporters who have worked with me as I try to get elected. Sometimes they have worked so hard I question whether it’s their name on the ballot or mine. I am a lucky person.

On September 11th please vote for  for Dan Dwyer in the State Senate District 11  Republican Primary. “Live Free Or Die”
