Need to Spice up an Ordinary Haircut? Hairthurium Tells All

Need to spice up an ordinary haircut? Just add some bangs! Bangs come in all shapes and sizes. Your goal is to have bangs that flatter your face shape.

Just add bangs! Fringes come in all shapes and sizes, they are flattering on all face shapes. Bangs can make a boring cut edgy, camoflauge flaws, take years off a face, and make your eyes pop. The goal is to determine your face shape- round, heart, square, long or the coveted oval. Once you determine your face shape you can add the most flattering fringe.

Hairthurium sheds some light on helpful guidelines to face shape and fringe!

Round faces - The goal is to give definition to the face. A great bang bet is side-swept or classic fringe. Make sure the bang is thick enough. Wispy bangs are not a good choice because they only increase softness to a round shape and do not make much of an impact.

Heart faces - The key is to soften the angle of the jaw line. This face shape is never good for a chin length style. Bangs draw attention to the eyes and soften the face shape. Layered, feathered, bangs are a great option that are either side-swept or graze softly on the eyebrows. Avoid wide, blunt, harsh bangs that will only make your face appear more angular.

Square faces - The key is to soften hard angles. Full fringes or long side-swept bangs that graze the eyebrows are best. Bangs should hit just below the brow, but are gradually longer on the sides.

Long faces - The goal of a long face shape is to make the face appear wider. Bangs can do this brilliantly! You can get away with  a side-swept bang or classic bang softened at the corners and temples.

Oval faces -  Lucky girl! The coveted face shape that can get away with any bang style - short choppy, long, side-swept or blunt. Have fun and be creative.

Hairthurium has a few things for you to remember when considering bangs. One big key to bangs is hair texture. If you have curly hair bangs are generally a no-no, curly hair does not usually work well cut above the eyes. Also, keep in mind that bangs need maintenance. Hairthurium recommends professional bang maintenace every 4-6 weeks. Attempting to trim your bangs at home can easily end in a bang-tastrophe!
