September 11th

Remembering September 11th

September 11th, 2001 is a day that should be remembered forever. It is the day that Americans were knocked off their comfy sofas and reminded that America too is vulnerable. For decades we had watched violence in the Middle East, Europe and Africa on TV in between our favorite TV shows and could never relate because it had never happened to us. Well, after September 11th we all realized that we were no longer safe in the cocoon of the US and that our innocence was over forever.

Over the next few weeks we all bought flags, patriotic bumper stickers and signs that told everyone how great America was. It woke up feelings of Patriotism that had not been visible in this country since the World Wars. It was powerful and even though it happened because of a tragedy it was great to see our country united as one. Eleven years have passed and although we all still love America  its fair to say that as a country we have not been this divided since the Civil War. We need to wake up before it's too late and bring back the feelings of unity we felt for a couple of months in 2001.

Tomorrow September 11th vote for people who want to bring our state and country together and will work in a bi partisan way to reunite America. I also ask you to  say a pray for Americas future and for those who lost their lives 11 years ago. God Bless America
