The USA went into this event as a clear leader our fab 5 to each go after the four different gym events and determine who will compete in the overall gymnast event as well as the teams ranking.
Vault- Mckayla Maroney took flight over the vault. She scaled almost 2 feet higher than anyone else. It was truly amazing to watch her. Our ladies are untouchable in the event!
Uneven bars- The best part of that event may have been watching the Raisman family during Aly's turn. It really was the best performance. Oh and the team pulled in some very decent scores. Gabby Douglas demonstrated her natural and seemingly effortless flying squirrel abilities.

Balance Beam- Aly Raisman nearly stuck the most difficult dismount in the games. She owns this event! Floor- Gabby suffered the first major deduction for the team with large out of bounds step. Which only slightly weakened her chances for getting in the overall competition. Going into her floor routine Aly Raisman had a chance to make the all around team needing only 14.966 to qualify and eliminate Wieber, the reigning world champ. Which with a stunning performance she was able to do by only .233 of a point. It was a major upset for the team. Wieber appeared quit devastated by the turn of events. A new ruling only allows the top two from each team to participate in the overall. Leading the commentators to question the scoring and rules in this event. Douglas and Raisman will represent for the overall.
Team USA ranked number 1 at the end of the qualifier. This was an emotional and exciting qualifier, can't wait for the main event!
