Chocolate, Wine and Music for a Cause

Swan Chocolates will hold a chocolate and wine tasting tonight as a fundraiser for the Nashua Salvation Army.

The public is invited to a complimentary chocolate and wine tasting event at Swan Chocolates tonight, celebrating sweet union between the chocolatier and the Nashua Salvation Army.

owners Michael and Theresa Anderson are excited once again unveil their signature solid Belgian chocolate bunny for The Salvation Army’s annual fundraising drive.

The event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and serves to unveil chocolate bunnies, perfect for the upcoming Easter holiday, designed with the signature Salvation Army shield affixed to the side. Theresa Anderson said she and her husband are thrilled to be working again with the Salvation Army to sell these bunnies for the third year now.

The event will be held in Swan's new upstairs lounge, which will re-open to the public on Friday.

In addition to complimentary chocolate and wine – which includes a chocolate fountain featuring Swan's newest melt – local musician Sue Hurwitz will perform during the event.

A short biography of Hurwitz says she is an active chamber musician in the New England area. She has performed venues that include the Museum of Fine Arts and the Boston Opera House. Hurwitz is the founder of Resonance, a chamber music ensemble and she is a member of Lyric Duo, which plays at weddings and special events. She is also the flutist in Fusion, a flute and percussion group which specializes in world music. 

Hurtwitz is a founding member and on the board of City Arts Nashua, a board member of the Hollis Arts Society and the chairwoman of the Performing Arts Guild. She is the program chairwoman for the Friends of the Hunt and a member of the Friends of the Nashua Symphony, The Opera Circle, Chamber Music America and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

No purchase is necessary to enjoy this evening, but The Salvation Army’s Sally Ann chocolate bunnies will be available for purchase in milk, white and dark chocolate at the event for $8 each. Swan Chocolates is at 436 Daniel Webster Highway, next to the Merrimack Fire Station.
