Cops: Merrimack Man Spit on, Pushed, Threatened Woman
Police arrest James Ayotte on a domestic violence charge and resisting arrest, and held on cash bail.

A local man was arrested and arraigned earlier this week after allegedly assaulting a woman.
James Ayotte, 31, of Bernards Road in Merrimack, was arrested on Oct. 11, 2015, for domestic violence, simple assault and resisting arrest.

According to Capt. Peter Albert of the Merrimack Police Department, a woman requested police to come to Bernards Road at around 8:15 p.m. where she allegedly was assaulted. The woman stated that Ayotte allegedly “spit on her, pushed her, damaged her cellphone and threatened her,” according to thereport.
Police went to Ayotte’s home and after a brief investigation, arrested him. Police allege that he resisted officers when they tried to cuff him but he was eventually handcuffed and a resisting charge was added.

Ayotte was held on $5,000 cash bail and arraigned on Oct. 13.
