Corvette Burns in Merrimack High School Parking Lot
Firefighters say the vehicle is a total loss after a blaze caused by an electrical problem.
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire and Rescue teams were sent to the high school on Nov. 17, 2016, for a report of a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette that caught on fire due to an electrical problem, according to a press release from Fire Marshal John Manuele of the Merrimack Fire Department. Firefighters were sent to Merrimack High School at just before 1 p.m. for a fire in parking lot coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle.
Engine 1, Assistant Chiefs Pierson and Borneman, and Manuele all responded to the scene along with School Resource Officer Murray.
“Engine 1 started a rapid attack as the burning car was in close proximity to several other cars in the parking lot,” Manuele stated. “The fire was quickly knocked down and the remains of the hood were removed to completely extinguish the fire.”
