Merrimack based lawyer Dan Hynes declared his intention to seek the GOP nomination for the District 11 State Senate seat today. District 11 covers Amherst, Merrimack, Milford, & Wilton. Hynes, a liberty activist and small business owner, cited the increase in spending and pressure on small businesses coming from Concord as his main motivation for running.
“Our state is at a critical point economically. New Hampshire businesses can’t afford higher taxes and more cumbersome regulations -- and the people of New Hampshire can’t afford to lose more jobs as a result of the business exodus these regulations cause.”
Other issues which Hynes plans to focus on as State Senator include; protection of privacy rights, a sustainably balanced budget, and an educational system which focuses on quality, and values the role of the family in a child’s education.

Economy & Jobs:
I believe the government can create jobs, and stimulate the economy, by limiting business regulations. The state has a duty to help promote job growth, not get in the way!
Education:
No Common Core!
I oppose Common Core because it restricts local districts and teachers with forced, harmful regulations. I support the choices of teachers, parents, and students to obtain the best education possible for their individual situation and needs.
Smaller Government:
A smaller government is a better Government!
I believe the government can help everyone with smarter, limited spending, while providing the best possible opportunities to allow people to pursue their own happiness.
I believe a limited government is the best form of government. I support constitutional amendments prohibiting both an income tax and sales tax.
I believes the government should not invade individual
freedoms, including the right to keep and bear arms, the right to privacy, and other civil liberties.
