Defective Brake Light Leads to Charges for Hudson Man

Merrimack Police arrest Edward Gilbert on Route 101A.

MERRIMACK, NH – A Hudson man was arrested on driving charges after allegedly being stopped for defective equipment issues on Route 101A last week.

Edward Gilbert, 32, of Riverside Avenue in Hudson, was arrested on Jan. 19, 2016, for operating after suspension and operation with a suspended registration.

At just after 11 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling on the highway with a brake light that wasn’t working.

The officer stopped the car and checked Gilbert’s information with dispatch. Dispatch found that his license and registrations were suspended on Jan. 14, and he was arrested.

Gilbert was processed and released on personal recognizance bail. He’s due in court on Feb. 18.
