Do the Math!

I may not be the smartest guy in town, but I do understand a little about how math works. Every poll I 've seen of New Hampshire residents show an 80+% support for background checks to be done at gun shows and on the internet. Is it 80% or 85% - who cares, it is an overwhelming majority, across party lines, gun owners and non-owners, men or women, you call it. Yet our junior senator, Ms. Ayotte, believes she alone ( well, she and the gun manufactures) know best for her constituents.  She chose to vote NO on this basic change to make it more difficult for felons and terrorists and the mentally ill to obtain their weapon of choice.
Almost to a person (again 80+%), people I speak to in this state - friends and neighbors - disagree with Sen. Ayotte and the Republican minority in the Senate who killed this bill.  At rallies across the state people I meet are not only angry about her vote, but are amazed that such a common sense change to help reduce the chances of the wrong people amassing weapons is even in question!
This bill does not prohibit or restrict or limit gun ownership by law abiding people in any way, and the vast majority of New Hampshire citizens know this.
Too bad our junior senator doesn't believe in arithmetic!
