Dog Lovers Unite to Bring Dog Park to Merrimack

The town of Merrimack is representing the Northeast in PetSafe's contest.

Pet lovers from around the region are encouraged to cast their votes in hopes the town of Merrimack will soon go to the dogs. Merrimack has made the final round of PetSafe’s national Bark For Your Park contest and could be awarded up to $100,000 towards the new dog park if they garner enough votes.

Merrimack surpassed hundreds of other nominated towns across the country during the initial voting round held earlier this spring and as it stands now, it’s the only town in the Northeast to remain in the running for Bark For Your Park. Project officials are now calling on community members and friends to vote for this project online, each day, though July 22nd. Bark For Your Park has a grand prize of $100,000 in addition to four $25,000 runner-up prizes. Winners will be determined based on the highest number of votes among the top five towns based on population.

Each supporter may cast up to two votes per day. Voting may be conducted via the Bark For Your Park website, petsafe.net/barkforyoupark, or on the PetSafe Facebook page. The voting period is from July 17 through July 22, at midnight. Winners will be announced in late July.
