Erratic Driving Leads to Teen Arrest on Drug Charges

Merrimack Police: Kurtis Beeten was arrested after a traffic stop on Continental Boulevard.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local teen was arrested last month and is due in court next week, according to police, after being arrested on marijuana charges. Kurtis Beeten, 18, of Matthew Driver in Merrimack, was arrested on Aug. 28, 2016, for possession of a controlled drug and transportation of a controlled drug.

At just before 1 a.m., an officer reportedly observed a motor vehicle operating erratically on Continental Boulevard, according to a report.

“The officer initiated a traffic stop and the operator was identified as Kurtis Beeten,” according to Sgt. Cassell of the Merrimack Police Department. “During his interaction with Beeten, the officer noted indicators that Beeten had been consuming alcoholic beverages. Beeten was subsequently taken in to custody without incident.”

An inventory search of Beeten’s vehicle allegedly revealed spilled beer and marijuana on the passenger’s side floor board.

Beetn was processed and released. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 29.
