Join painter James Aponovich and Currier Museum of Art curator Kurt Sundstrom on Friday October 21 from 6pm to 7:30pm for a lively conversation about art appreciation at the Dion Center at Rivier College, 420 South Main Street in Nashua.
The Presentation will focus on three works of art, including a rare 14th century altarpiece by Florentine artist Niccolo di Pietro Gerina (active 1366 - 1415) on loan from a generous private collector. The altarpiece is currently on view at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, where visitors can experience its sumptuous gold background, elaborate frame, meticulous tooling and punch work that were intended to inspire worshipers centuries ago.
