Your Baby and Books Free Workshop

The Merrimack Public Library will hold a free workshop for parents and caregivers of infants and preschool-aged children titled “Your Baby and Books” on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. Research shows that early exposure to books is a crucial part of providing the building blocks to language and literacy development in young children. In this free workshop adults will learn fun and easy activities and techniques that will help a child develop a lifelong love of reading which, in turn, creates a foundation for school success. This program will be helpful to anyone who interacts with preschool age children – parents, teachers and care providers. Registration is required; register by phone at 424-5021 or online.

This workshop is based on information received from the NH Parent Information and Resource Center, a U.S. Department of Education-funded program. NH PIRC's mission is to support student academic achievement by increasing parental involvement in children's education and promoting school-family-community partnerships.
