Explosion Reported At Merrimack's Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Plant
Breaking: An explosion and fire was reported at the plant at around 6:30 p.m. this morning.
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire and Rescue teams were called to the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Plant on Daniel Webster Highway at around 6:30 a.m. on July 10, 2017, for a report of an explosion and fire in the plant, according to reports online. A machine reportedly exploded in the rear of the building. While en route, heavy, black smoke was reported from the facility.
Employees were evacuated from the building while firefighters tackled fire which appears to have spread to the roof and ducts of the building.
According to the InfoNH Facebook site, the fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.
