Fight on the Field Leads to Assault Charge

Merrimack Police arrest Timothy Paquette after an alleged incident at the Martel Baseball Field.

MERRIMACK, NH - A local man is expected to be in court next month after allegedly assaulting another person after an argument on a playing field in town, according to police.

Timothy Paquette, 47, of Baboosic Lake Roadi n Merrimack, was arrested on May 10, 2016, and charged with simple assault.

According to police, officers were sent to the Martel Baseball Field off of Atherton Road for a report of a dispute between two players. When they arrived, they located the two involved parties

“During the investigation, it was learned that the victim and his girlfriend were playing catch on the ballfield when they were approached by Paquette who advised them to leave and go to another field,” according to Lt. Dean KillKelley of the Merrimack Police Department. “Words were exchanged and during the confrontation Paquette pushed the victim in the chest area with his hands.”

Paquette reportedly left the area and an arrest warrant was issued against him. He later turned himself in on the charge, was processed, and released on personal recognizance bail. Paquette, according to police, has a court date on June 16.
