Finance Director Successful as Acting Town Manager

Paul Micali has also been taking on extra responsibilities.

Town Finance Director Paul Micali is temporarily serving as acting town manager while Eileen Cabanel is on leave for an undisclosed medical reason.

According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Micali has been filling in for Cabanel as the acting town manager for nearly two weeks.

The Merrimack Town Council voted 6-1 on Thursday to add duties to the existing finance director position, and therefore update Micali’s title to assistant town manager. The position does not currently exist in Merrimack.

Micali, as the town’s finance director, is responsible for pre-audit and post-audit work, maintaining the general financial accounts of the town, preparing financial reports, negotiating loans, supervising financial records and handling employee earnings.

He is also assisting with union contract negotiations, attending negotiation meetings and helping to entice new businesses to town while encouraging current businesses to remain.
