Five Things to Do With Dad on Father's Day

Bowl, scream, dine, tour or play outdoors.

Father's Day is tomorrow, do you know what you're doing with Dad yet? If not, here are five suggestions to get your celebration started.

Steeeeee-rike! Take your dad to Merrimack Ten Pin for an afternoon of bowling. Get three games of bowling and free shoe rental for  $13 per person and a chance to win a $50 gift card for Dad. Merrimack Ten Pin is open from 9 a.m.-midnight for open play. Call MTP now to reserve your lane at 429-0989.

Get your thrill on. Take a trip to Canobie Lake Park to check out the park's newest thrill ride, Untamed. Dads will receive free admission and free lunch (lunch served from noon-3 p.m.) when accompanied by a paid child's ticket on Sunday. Several vehicles from Lee USA Speedway, one of NASCAR’s premier short track venues, will also be on display for Father’s Day. More details online with Canobie Lake Park.

Dine with Dad. Visit one of Merrimack's local restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner. No matter your tastes, there's something in Merrimack for everyone. Might we suggest a visit to The Common Man, The Homestead, or Buckley's Great Steaks? Buckley's which is not normally open on Sundays will be open from 4-8 p.m. for a special Father's Day dinner. The Common Man, which is now open for lunch, is holding a raffle for diners on Sunday. Eat at the Common Man and enter Dad to win two tickets to the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 NASCAR race at NH Motor Speedway on July 17. And lastly, enjoy Sunday brunch or dinner at The Homestead. The deck is now open for outdoor dining.

Take a day trip. Head out to the Seacoast for tours of the Nina and Pinta. Replica ships of the vessels that were part of Christopher Columbus' journey to discover America are docked at Kittery's Badgers Island Marina East. Tours are available from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for children ages 5 to 16. Children 4 and younger are free. While you're there, join in the celebration at Kittery's Block Party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Get outdoors. Who says you need to spend lots of money to celebrate Dad? The weather is shaping up to be sensational, so get outdoors and take advantage of Merrimack's parks and beaches. Pack up a picnic lunch, your swim suits, a basketball, wiffle ball and bat or whatever other outdoor games you might have and head over to Wasserman Park for a day outdoors.
