Get Ready to Run for Merrimack Town Offices

Filing period for Town Council and other boards begins on Wednesday, according to the town clerk.

MERRIMACK, NH - It’s that time again - time to get ready to run for town offices in Merrimack.

The filing period to run for town offices begin on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, and ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 4.  The Town Meeting election will be held on April 12, 2016.

  • Two Town Council members, three-year terms
  • Two Ethics Committee members, three-year terms
  • One Library Trustee, three-year term.
  • One Trustee of the Trust Funds, three-year term.
  • One Moderator, two-year term.
  • One Supervisor of the Checklist, six-year term.

Candidates must file with the Town Clerk to have their name placed on the ballot and must be a registered voter and domiciled in Merrimack. (RSA 669:6, 669:19) Candidates for Town Council must also have been domiciled in Merrimack for at least one year. (Town Charter Article 3-4, C)
