Election Day is Nov. 8, 2016. Here's what you need to know.

MERRIMACK, NH — Diane Trippett, the town clerk of Merrimack, released the following information for voters in town. For more detailed information, check out the town clerk's website, Elections and Voting page.
Absentee ballots
Absentee ballots for the Nov. 8 General Election are now available at the town clerk’s office. Voters who are unable to vote in person due to a disability, religious observation, an employment obligation where working hours will not allow them to appear in person during the time the polls are open may apply for an absentee ballot. An employment obligation includes the care of children and the infirm.

Persons who need to register are encouraged to do so by Nov. 1, 2016, which is the deadline to have your name added to the checklist. Election Day registration at the polls is available; however, long lines are anticipated.
For your convenience, the Supervisors of the Checklist will be holding voter registration sessions on the following dates and times:
- 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Library
- 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Library
- 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Library
- 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Merrimack Town Hall
