Guinta Winning The Battle for Merrimack
House committee recommending minimal change in Congressional redistricting.

The tug of war between U.S. Reps. Frank Guinta and Charlie Bass over redistricting may be coming to a close, according to an article in the Union Leader, and it looks like Guinta may win the battle to keep Merrimack.
The Republican congressmen have been working out a plan to redraw the congressional districts so they contain close to the same number of constituents in each, but at the center of that battle has been Merrimack, Plaistow and Hampstead, three largely Republican communities.
According to the Union Leader, a House subcommittee last week supported Bass' plan to move those three communities and Kingston into his district in exchange for a group of towns in the North Country, but the full committee this week effectively sided with Guinta when they decided simply to move two small communities over to Bass to even out the population.
