Halloween Walk was a Haunted Happening

Local organizations and nonprofits helped make event one to remember.

Hundreds of residents took a break from their “Frankenstorm” preparations to enjoy a family friendly night of spooktacular fun for the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department's 20th annual Halloween Haunted Walk at Wasserman Park.  The moon was high and the night was beautiful as many little witches, goblins and ghosts took to the haystack to find Halloween eggs filled with ghoulish treats. Local non-profit organizations and community groups volunteered both time and talents making this night a great success!

The MHS First Robotics Team did an amazing job hosting the Haunted House!  Shrieks and screams filled the air from those who dared to enter. The younger crowd who enjoy a little less haunting, received a friendly spooky tour of the Haunted House.

Inside the Function Hall, the Merrimack Police Department’s Fun Day included pumpkin painting, a costume parade showcasing all of the children’s creative costumes, and complementary refreshments. Guests enjoyed free popcorn, candy and apples as they received safety tips on how to enjoy a happy and healthy Halloween.

Sam the Music Man kept the night hopping with everyone’s favorite Halloween songs. Merrimack Karate delighted all the children with their very entertaining sponge bop game and Family Chiropractic of Merrimack brought their positive energy to the night handing out apples as a healthy alternative to Halloween treats.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the local non-profit organizations who shared their time helping run games, offering refreshments and sharing information on their groups with the community.  Merrimack Friends and Family sold delicious Nachos and cheese.  All proceeds go directly to the Merrimack Friends and Families Charitable Fund.  The Lioness Club was selling delicious freshly baked cookies and serving hot coffee and the FIRST Robotics Team were selling baked goods as a fundraiser for their club.  Special thanks to Tom Thornton, Laura Jaynes and Jackie Flood from the Parks and Recreation Committee for taking time out of their busy schedules to help us make this Halloween event such a great success.
