Hit-and-Run at King Kone Leads to Charges
Merrimack Police arrest Tomas Duarte for OUI, second offense, and conduct after an accident.

A local man was arrested on Sunday after a hit-and-run accident in Merrimack, according to police.
Tomas Duarte, 56, of West Pearl Street in Nashua, was arrested on April 19, 2015, and charged with operating under the influence, second offense, and conduct after an accident.
Police were called to an accident at the King Kone at just before 6 p.m. with one of the vehicles reportedly fleeing the scene.

Another officer later caught up with the suspected vehicle on the Daniel Webster Highway near the Merrimack-Nashua line.
“The officer spoke to the driver, Tomas Duarte, and could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him,” according to Sgt. Brian Levesque of the Merrimack Police Department. “After a brief investigation, he was placed under arrest for OUIL after the officer determined that he was too impaired to be driving.”

Duarte was also issued the conduct charge and held on $1,000 cash bail after police learned that he was out on bail from a Nashua incident. He was arrested on April 20.
