Holiday Parade, Tree Lighting Set for Dec. 2
The theme for this year's parade is 'Holiday Season ~ A Time for Paws & Reflection.'
The Town of Merrimack’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce have announced the annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, beginning at 3p.m.
The parade route will begin at The Commons Shopping Plaza. Traveling south on Daniel Webster Highway it will finish at Abbie Griffin Park for the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Parks and Rec encourages all families to join in and sing festive holiday carols and help Santa count down to light the Christmas Tree!
After the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet with the children to hear their wishes! Merrimack Girl Scouts Troop 10596 will be offering free cookies and holding a “Cans for Cookies” can food drive in the Town Hall parking lot. All donations collected will go to St. James, St. John Neumann and Riverside Church food pantries.

Come join Parks and Rec and the Chamber as they welcome the holiday season! All citizens, pets, organizations and businesses are welcome to participate. The theme for this year’s parade is “Holiday Season ~ A Time for Paws & Reflection." A rain date of Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, has been set.
Registration forms to participate in the parade are located on the town website www.merrimacknh.gov or by calling the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Office at (603) 882-1046.
