How to Prepare your Scalp for Winter

Tans have faded, shorts and tank tops have transitioned to leggings and sweaters, blondes are becoming brunettes—it's officially cold outside! The change in weather should also signal a change in care when it comes to our pretty little heads. Coming off of the summer season, it is vital that we winterize our scalps. Since hair has been exposed to a lot of heat and water elements, it hasn't been able to breathe  and needs to be properly cared for. Here are Hairthurium's recommendations for prepping your scalp before the first snow!

MOROCCAN  OIL TREATMENTS
Hairthurium is a big fan scalp oil treatments—this is an incredible ointment that when applied to the  scalp and hair helps to protect each individual strand and completely revitalize the scalp. The essential oils, lavender, and geranium extract soothe and heal. The after effect: hair is thoroughly cleansed, the scalp is moisturized, and your hair will feel as if each strand has a lot of movement and shine.

 OIL TREATMENTS:
Hairthurium recommends applying an oil treatment to the scalp once a month, especially heading into the wintertime. Moroccan Oil treatments are performed with a relaxing massage in the salon. Also, the Oil is available for at home maintenance.

1. Apply the oil before shampooing, going part by part and section by section, using at least two drops per section.
2. Massage for about three to five minutes.
3. Following up with shampoo and conditioner and style as usual.

RECLAIM OR SHORTEN LENGTH
Start the season off right with a proper haircut! Hairthurium usually advises  clients to go a bit shorter as it's good to get rid of dead hair, or any issues caused by chlorine, the ocean and sun.

BRUSH IT OUT
