IMAGE GALLERY: Bruins Fans Fete Team on Boston Streets
Merrimack and Amherst residents chronicle Saturday's victory parade in pictures.
Wednesday, June 15, went down in Boston sports history when the Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 on Canadian ice to win Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. The Bruins win brought the Cup home for the first time since 1972 and like the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots, with their recent championship wins, the Bruins brought the Cup to their fans in a parade through the streets of Boston on Saturday morning.
Thousands of Bruins faithful, many dressed in black and gold, flooded the streets around the TD Garden, City Hall Plaza, The Common and Copley Plaza hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite player and of course, that gleaming Stanley Cup.
Merrimack resident Melanie Hitchcock and Amherst resident Jason Meserve were a couple of the New Hampshire faithful to make their way down to the organized chaos. They shared some photos with Patch to share with those who couldn't make it themselves (like us, as we were covering and here in town).
