Improvements to the YMCA of Greater Nashua's Merrimack Branch

PARKING LOT:

Beginning next week on Wednesday (August 7), crews will be onsite at the Merrimack YMCA preparing for our parking lot renovation. Weather permitting, the light poles will be removed in the parking lot and temporary lighting will be added to the Merrimack Y building to illuminate the parking lot.

The parking lot repaving will take place in two stages. Phase  one begins Monday, August 19 when the asphalt is removed .
Please expect parking disruption when you visit the Y. Contractors will be directing traffic during the week so you will be asked to park around the work crews. On or about August 25, we will have the first binder coat on the driveway with temporary parking space and directional striping done.
During the first or second week of September, the phase two will commence and the final coat will be completed and finish striping will be done.

During the parking lot construction time, YMCA staff will be parking across the street at the 7 Henry Clay Drive office park, behind the building.

WALKING LANE:

During the parking lot upgrade, we will be installing permanent bollards from the main entrance of the Y to the fields to establish a more permanent, safe walking lane. This will be a permanent way to control traffic away from children, teachers and parents who walk to and from the entrance to the Y to the fields.

ENTRANCE:

We're beautifying the entrance to the Merrimack Y and adding benches, and plantings and extending the main walkway into the building.

FIELD HOUSE UPGRADES:
The front corner of the field house is prepped and ready for installation of glass panels from the floor to the ceiling.  Additionally, the heavy, green drapes will be removed and netting will be installed, creating a brighter environment to use the courts and walking track.

SECURITY:

We are installing security cameras in the field house and well as in the parking lot.

If you have any questions, please contact Facilities Director Mike Powers at mpowers@nmymca.org.

Thank you for your patience as we work to make your Y experience better.
