Jackson Cote Gets More Help

Nearly $4,000 raised for Merrimack boy who was struck and injured by an SUV in June while riding his bicycle.

MERRIMACK, NH — The fundraising is continuing for a local boy who was struck by an SUV at the intersection of Church Street and the Daniel Webster Highway back in June.

Jackson Cote, 13, suffered injuries during the crash, including broken arms and legs, and will need extensive physical therapy during the healing process.

The GoFundMe.com effort has raised nearly $4,000 out of a $25,000 goal. All proceeds will go to his medical bills, according to the family.

Local real estate agent, Melissa Higgins, has set up a Facebook site to track Jackson’s healing process and treatment, as well as helping to raise more money for the effort. The hope is that a full campaign to raise money will get off the ground in order to get close to the $25,000 goal.

“At the end of the day, the least we are asking is they join to acknowledge his ordeal and have compassion, but they may also send cards to him, leave support messages on the Facebook event page, and of course donate money to his medical bills,” Higgins said in an email. “People are really starting to show support in so many ways – emotional (which is essential for his morale to keep him motivated since PT and OT can be very painful ordeals) and financially.”
