JMUES Students Move On and Up

Ceremony held to recognize sixth-graders moving to middle school, fifth-graders stepping up as school leaders.

A ceremony was held at Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the fifth- and sixth-graders who take on new roles next year. The James Mastricola Upper Elementary School's annual Moving On Ceremony highlights the achievements of the fifth- and sixth-graders who attend the school. The sixth-graders will move on to Merrimack Middle School in the fall while the fifth-graders will step into a leadership role at JMUES.

The ceremony included welcoming remarks from Assistant Principal William Morris and Principal Marsha McGill, reading of student essays, by contest winners Rebecca Cassady, Brittany Hermann and Maddie Kelley, student recognition, a performance of "The Friendship Song by the JMUES Moving On Ensemble and a sixth-grade slideshow.

Wednesday is the last day of school for Merrimack students.
