Kevin Smith to Hold Town Hall in Merrimack

Gubernatorial candidate will hold town hall meetings in all of New Hampshire's counties.

Kevin Smith, Republican candidate for governor of New Hampshire, recently announced he will hold town hall meetings covering all 10 counties in New Hampshire in May and June. One of the meetings will be held in Merrimack Town Hall on June 21.

“I’m running a campaign based on substance and specific ideas for making New Hampshire a better place to live and do business," Smith says. "As part of this effort, I want to provide voters with an opportunity to engage me on the issues, and also give me the chance to hear directly from them about their ideas for making our state stronger. This is part of a vigorous, grassroots campaign that I’m running, which is exactly what voters expect and want to see from their candidates.”

Smith’s campaign has scheduled 14 town hall meetings in the months of May and June, with more to be added soon. The tour will take him to all 10 counties in the state and include stops in Berlin, Bow, Colebrook, Conway, Dover, Hampton, Hudson, Keene, Kingston, Laconia, Littleton, Merrimack, Newport, and Plymouth. Smith is the only candidate for governor thus far to commit to holding traditional town hall meetings where voters are invited to ask questions and hear answers from the candidate.

Smith said he would use the town hall meetings as an opportunity to promote his “New Hampshire’s Future Is Now” plan for rebuilding the state’s economy and generating new jobs. The meetings will resemble the style and format usually seen in presidential campaigns throughout New Hampshire, and will be open to the press.
