Leadership Program for NH Homeless Begins Recruitment

The NH Coalition to End Homelessness has begun recruitment for its Granite Leaders program, which is set to begin in November.

The NH Coalition to End Homelessness (NHCEH) has begun recruitment for its Granite Leaders program, which is set to begin its second class in November. The biennial program builds leadership skills within the homeless and formerly homeless community, increasing their capacity to take on influential roles on issues pertinent to their lives. Applications will be accepted until October 1.

“It is essential that the voices of those who have experienced homelessness are incorporated into our discussions about how best to solve this troubling problem,” said Cathy Kuhn, PhD, Director of the NHCEH. “Graduates from the 2014 class of Granite Leaders are making profound impacts in their communities and we are looking forward to expanding their number and influence with new graduates from the 2016 class.”

Through a six-month, free-to-attend, educational program, which is followed by a year and a half of mentorship, participants of Granite Leaders learn specific skills and interact with widely recognized leaders on the local, statewide and national levels. Upon completion of the program, graduates become part of a network of skilled leaders focused on improving the quality of life in communities across New Hampshire.
