Legislative Updates By Rep. Maureen Mooney For November 2022
Thank you! And, here are the legislative updates for this month!
Greetings!
I want to remember and express my full gratitude for our Veterans and their families. It is because of their abilities, call to duty, sacrifices and service we are the country we are today. Thank you, Veterans near and far!
A special thank you to all that voted for me, supported me and displayed a sign for me this election season. I am grateful beyond measure. I won a fifth term as a N.H. State Representative last Tuesday because of your support!

On December 7, 2022, the newly elected members of the NH House will convene to be sworn in and elect a Speaker of the House on what’s called “Organization Day.” Committee assignments and leadership titles come thereafter. As of this writing, the results from Tuesday’s election give the Republicans in the NH House a majority of 203 members; the Democrats with 197 members. At least 16 recounts statewide have been requested. It is rare (but not impossible) for an election result to change after a recount.
The bill filing period for 2023 is open again until November 22, 2022 at 12:00pm.
One last detail, the Merrimack House Delegation will be known as Hillsborough County District #12 (not #21) after December 7th, 2022. This is a result of redistricting last session.
See you around town, and thank you again!
