Appearing on the ballot (after federal, state and county candidates) are two questions this year. The first question amends the New Hampshire Constitution by removing the office of Register of Probate. This constitutional amendment passed with the required 3/5 vote of the entire legislative membership in order to appear on the ballot. To amend the NH Constitution, it now requires 60% of the vote on November 8, 2022. The text of the bill is here: http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/legacy/bs2016/billText.aspx?sy=2022&id=1186&txtFormat=pdf&v=current

The office of Register of Probate was statutorily eliminated in 2011. Here is an informative article on the matter: https://www.seacoastonline.com/story/opinion/columns/2022/10/04/sytek-eliminate-obsolete-position-register-probate-nh/8162474001/. Here is the NH Secretary of State’s Voter Guide on question #1: https://www.sos.nh.gov/sites/g/files/ehbemt561/files/inline-documents/sonh/2022-voters-guide-final_0.pdf. I will be voting “yes” on this question #1.

The second question asks whether a Constitutional Convention is needed. This question is required to appear on the ballot every 10 years per Part 2, Art. 100 of the NH Constitution. See here: https://www.nh.gov/glance/oaths.htm A Constitutional Convention is an additional means of proposing constitutional amendments which then appear on the ballot for the voters to decide in the next biennial election.

Please consider voting for me as one of your State Representatives. See you at the polls!
