Man Allegedly Assaults Child, Another Person, Kicks Cat: Cops
Jonathan Anderson was arrested on second-degree, other assault charges, as well as animal cruelty after an incident last month.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local man was arrested on numerous charges two days ago after an alleged incident on March 31, 2018, according to police. Jonathan A. Anderson, 29, of Merrimack, was arrested on April 3, 2018, for second-degree assault, four counts of assault, and animal cruelty. According to Lt. Matthew Tarleton of the Merrimack Police Department, the charges stem from an alleged incident on March 31, where police were sent to a report of a suicidal subject.

Officers were sent to a home to check on a subject but he - Anderson – was not at the home. While there, they spoke with a complainant who alleged that Anderson assaulted them as well as a minor child over a period of time.

“The assaults ranged from strangulation to pushing and kicking both victims,” Tarleton alleged. “It was also learned that Anderson had repeatedly kicked a pet cat.”
Anderson later returned and was taken into protective custody, according to the report. Later, he was arrested on a warrant and held without bail. Anderson was arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South on April 4.
