Man Charged with DWI in Merrimack Crash That Seriously Injured His Wife
Police said Craig Michaud slammed into a tree on the Everett Turnpike Sunday morning.

Police said a Nashua man was drunk when he crashed into a tree on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack early Sunday morning, seriously injuring his wife.
Craig Michaud, 41, was charged with aggravated DWI.
Police said the crash happened at about 2 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway. Michaud was driving a 2007 Ford Explorer when he veered off the road and slammed into a tree, police said.

His wife, Tara, was trapped in the vehicle for about an hour as first responders worked to free her. She was medflighted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was expected to survive.
Craig Michaud was not hurt, police said.
