Maryland Man Arrested For OUI

Police: David Varnado of Fort Washington was arrested on the Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack on Thursday morning.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Maryland man is due in court next week after being arrested yesterday morning on a drunk driving charge. David Varnado, 34, of Fort Washington, MD, was arrested at 1 a.m. on June 15, 2017, for aggravated operating under the influence of liquor. According to police, an officer pulled over a Nissan Altima for a motor vehicle infraction on the Daniel Webster Highway near Tortilla Flats, according to Lt. Ted Dillon of the Merrimack Police Department.

“When the officer spoke to the above driver, David Varnado did exhibit signs of alcohol impairment,” Dillon alleged. “After a brief investigation he was placed under arrest for O.U.I.L.”

At police headquarters, the charge was upgraded to aggravated OUIL. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on June 20.
