Mass. Man Arrested for OUI

Erratic driving on Route 101A leads Merrimack Police to stop and arrest Enrique Olivarez.

An early morning traffic stop earlier today led to a drunk-driving charge against a Massachusetts man.

Enrique Olivarez, 41, of Merrill Street in Westfield, MA, was arrested on July 15, 2015, and charged with operating under the influence-liquor.

According to police, at around 12:50 a.m., police received a tip that there was a motor vehicle operating erratically in the eastbound lane of Route 101A, just over the Merrimack line.

An officer saw the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop after reportedly observing a motor vehicle violation.

“The officer made contact with the operator, identified as Enrique Olivarez, during which time he noticed signs of impairment,” according to Sgt. Eric Marquis. “The officer conducted a roadside investigation which included field sobriety tests and as a result of the investigation, Olivarez was placed under arrest for OUIL.”

Olivarez was processes and released and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
