Mass. Motorcyclist Arrested After Allegedly Striking Mailbox
Merrimack Police allege that Kristopher Kratman of Danvers fled a crash scene without notifying officials or the property owner.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Bay State man is due in court next month after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash while riding his motorcycle, according to police. Kristopher Kratman, 28, of Danvers, MA, was arrested on July 1, 2017, and charged with conduct after an accident. Police were sent to Laurel Street for a report of a crash at just before 3:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Kenneth MacLeod of the Merrimack Police Department.

A motorcycle had struck a mailbox but then reportedly left the scene, a witness alleged.

“A short time later, the operator of the motorcycle involved was located and identified as Kristopher Kratman,” MacLeod alleged. “Upon further investigation by the officers, it was learned that Kristopher Kratman did not notify the resident of the property damage that had taken place as a result of the accident.”
Kratman was arrested, processed, and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. He’s due in Merrimack District Court on Aug. 1, according to police.
