Merrimack Boy Scout Troop 424 Cleans Up the Souhegan River

Merrimack Boy Scout Troop 424 took to Souhegan River looking for trash on Sunday, June 7, 2015

On Sunday, June 7, 2015, Scouts from Merrimack Troop 424 along with their leaders and parents went canoeing on the Souhegan River looking for trash. This was the troop’s annual trip on the Souhegan River. Every June, the Scouts from the troop plan a canoe trip and search the river for trash. They always find different types of trash and this year was no exception. At the end of their trip they had found 6 tires, a plastic chair, a long pipe that barely fit on a canoe along with lots of bottles and cans. They also found golf balls that some of the Scouts kept as souvenirs from their day of cleaning up the river.
